XP: Food amounts for party
I also posted this on the cooking board, but no one has answered me...
My DS's 1st birthday is going to be in April. We are expecting about 40 adults and about 15 kids. We are having BBQ chipped ham sandwiches, meatballs in sauce for subs and chicken fingers. How much of each should I have? This is for a 4pm party, so it will be supper. I was thinking:
Chipped ham - 5 lbs
Meatballs - about 120 of them - is that one big bag from Sam's?
Chicken tenders - 40 or so?
Thanks!!
Re: XP: Food amounts for party
Don't know much about the ham, can't help you there.
I *think* you might be ok with the meatballs, depending on the size.
I think you need to double the chicken tenders to 80 though - even if they're large. If they're small, than maybe 120.
HTH!
Will you have chips and dips type of food as well?
I'd probably only do two proteins because I like to have at least one serving per person and 3 choices would leave far to many leftovers. So, 10 lbs of ham, 120 meatballs, and/or 80 chicken.
That would allow for some to take two and some to take none. I figure the kids won't be taking full servings. If the kids are older and you think they will be taking full servings, up it.
I also made sure I had peanut butter on hand at our party. I didn't need it, but it's nice ot have.
