Anyone ever have one done?
I'm schedule for one on Thurs. I"m a bit nervous about it as I heard they are going to stick me with a bunch of needles.
Insight anyone?
Re: Nerve Conduction Study
I had it from my back to my toes.
What would you like to know?
?
I hate to scare you, but mine was quite painful.
I lose sensation in my toes when I am running / exercising.
What was involved is:
They had me lay on my stomach.
Entered needeles in 2 points in my back, 2 in my calf, and 1 in my foot.
They then attached wires to the needles.
The next part was painful - they passed an electric pulse through the needles on my back and measured at the calf and the toes how much of the pulse went through.
This was about 8 years ago.
I am hoping that this test is perhaps different now...

Mine was the exact same as Fannys....I don't think the procedure has changed much since mine was just last summer. The only one I found to be uncomfortable was the one they stuck in my foot.
This makes me want to puke!
Ditto. I had one done a few years ago down the left side of my body for intermitent numbness. My hands and feet hurt the most. I vaguely remember the reason being that the skin was thinner there? I could be totally wrong...
Good luck!
I survived the RoLex wedding and all I got was this lousy husband.

I lose sensation in my toes and sometimes my whole foot when I'm exercising...it was my sneakers. Once I changed them, the problem stopped.
