QOTD:

How are you getting ready for your new arrival?

Re: LA Bun in the oven check in

  • Update:  I'm feeling good since my episode last week.  We had our hospital tour yesterday which was super nice and I'm sooo excited now.  We just can't wait to meet our little girl.  I can't believe I only have 9 weeks left.   Time has just flown by!  I had my 1st shower on Saturday which was fun!  Got alot of great gifts for Casey and it just made everything seem so real!

    QOTD:

Just trying to organize her room and make it as user friendly as possible right now.  We keep rearranging the furniture.  I still have alot to put away from the shower.  Yesterday we put together our changing table so that was fun!  We also bought paint for a shelf I'm going to hang above the changing table.  So I'm going to paint that today if I feel up to it.

  • No significant UD's :(

QOTD: Not really started to buy stuffm, other than this Beatles onesie I saw

    @ Target,lol!. Haven't looked much.

  • I felt less like puking over the weekend which was nice.  My mom came over sat to help me clean my filthy house I have just had no energy to do so.  We started telling more people this weekend too which was fun:)

QOTD:  Nothing yet.  I don't want to jinx anything even though I dont believe in jinxing:)  After 12 weeks we will start working on the room and I will bust out my sewing machine to start making the bedding once we know the sex.

  • Called in sick for the first time today. I have a really bad cold and headache.  Kaiser wants me to come in today.  I haven't kept food down since Friday. I'm hoping I don't have to get an IV today.

QOTD: A whole lotta nuttin'. I'm sure we'll start some prepping as we go through the 2nd trimester.

  • I had my 4th and final shower yesterday.  It was my favorite I think.  Just a lowkey tea at High Cottage Tea in Woodland Hills.  Just 10 of us talking and it was so nice.  I'm feeling OK, except for my back.  And now my stomach is so big I can't lean on the kitchen sink to wash dishes.  I'm standing like a foot away and that's killing my back too.  DH had to finish up this morning.  I'm just uncomfortable!

QOTD:  well, now that the showers are over, I'm washing the last of the clothes and putting the final touches on the room which I just can't seem to finish.  I'm in denial I think.  And trying to finish backing my hospital bag too - also just not wanting to finish.  I've asked DH 3 times to put together the Pack N Play/Bassinet so I'll probably to it this weekend as well and really finish everything.  And we're just organizing the house and getting our dog's travel stuff together (he'll stay with my sis when I go into labor).  Come mid-October, I just don't want to think about any of this.  I just want to relax and wait for the big day!

    xoxo

  • I am getting closer to fostering/adopting!  To prepare, it's very difficult.  We don't know the age nor the gender.  The only thing I am doing to prepare is decluttering my house to make room for the new items and becoming more organized (because I won't have time for that later!).  I spoke to my close family/friends and I got a good team to help me out!  Most likely I'll get a call for a little one and have them in my care all within the same week and possibly all within the same day.  My mom is eager to run out and buy everything!!

My mom had a discussion with me on how it's sad I'm not having a shower.  But with fost/adopt I think it would just be weird.  There's a fairly decent chance each child could reunite with their birthparents.  I always thought we'd just have a huge adoption party when that day comes, but now I think it's odd to celebrate that some birthparents lost their child.  Sad  I think we'll just throw a real big birthday party for the child the first year they are with us (in lieu of a shower).
  • I think I've had a growth spurt...I can feel that my stomach up to my belly button is hardening under all my fat.  My appetite is returning a little, although the last 2 days I was still feeling really nauseous.  AND I gained my first 4 pounds (in one week!) since my BFP.

I have bought some vintage books that I will be using as prints in the nursery, and I'm searching for other works by the same artist (hard to find stuff, and pricey).  DH and I bought a name book a while back, but we can not agree on ANYTHING, so I haven't picked it up again.  But so far, that's it.  Maybe after my appointment next week I will feel a little more comfortable to start picking things out, and maybe picking things up if they're unisex or on sale.
