Awesomeness RE: yesterday's "Ugh" post

First off - thank you all for your kind words and your nestie dust for my brother. I really do appreciate all the love and support I get when it comes to him. You have no idea how much it means to me.

Second, they did move him yesterday. He called my mom late yesterday and she said he sounded good and that he didn't seem to upset or frazzled or anything which is wonderful! He said it was a long day because they left his facility at like 9 AM and did a whole bunch of drop offs but he was on the last "stop" so he didn't get to his new place till almost 7 PM. Holy long day batman! But either way he sounded good which is really all that matters.

Even better? He is CLOSE to home!!!! Well 3 hours from where we are now but when we move he'll only be 2 hours. TWO. That is driving to and from faster than it would have taken us to get to his old place!!!! That is awesome. Even 3 hours isn't bad because we can do that in a day and go see him more often but when we move I'll be seeing him on a very regular basis. I'm going to try for about once a month which is way better than the every few months we've been able to do now. I am SO excited!!! That will make the next 2 1/2 years fly by!!!

My parents weren't quick enough with the internet and DOCs website yesterday to tell him when he called them so he doesn't know where he is and how close he is but he'll be super excited! I hope he calls tonight so I can tell him because I am seriously about to burst! Its like keeping a really hard secret!! haha!!

Thanks again for all your wonderful nestie dust! :)

He knows where he is but the prisons in VA are in these tiny little towns that I've never even heard of and the biggest thing in the town  is the prison. They are seriously out in the middle of nowheresville. So even though he knows where he is he doesn't know where that is in relation to where we are and he's probably not really sure where exactly in VA he is located - he might have a general idea like near the mountains but that could be anywhere in the western-ish part of the state the same as near water could be anywhere up and down the coast.

My sister teaches kindergarten in a small town, that's actually a prison town here in Wisconsin.  A good number of her students are there because their families moved there to be closer to the parent that was in the prison.

At George's last place I noticed that a LOT of families knew each other and they knew the guards and I'm pretty sure its because they all lived in town. George said he was pretty sure that some of the guys were actually related in some way (brother, cousin, etc.)
