Re: Now Florida's leaning blue

  • Is that the right link?  I'm getting one of those fake fishing pages, I think.
  • I would like to thank Sarah Silverman and her www.thegreatschlep.com website for making things happen!
  • I saw this earlier and almost dropped dead from shock. I don't know what to tell you as a FL voter.

Then I saw the poll on the left hand side...that has Obama 59, McCain 41...I'm guessing that's what had them put it leaning blue and well...I'd be really interested in the data from that poll.

I just don't think it's accurate...do you know where they get the data for their polls? Last FL poll I saw had McCain up one...and it was less than a week ago.

  • Hmm...They've also got Ohio leaning blue! electoral-vote.com has it leaning red.

  • Glad my Democratic propoganda for my FL dad was worth it! Wink

But in all seriousness, I'm not sure about fivethirtyeight.com; it is showing stronger Dem numbers than other sites.  A couple of weeks back the poll "assigned" undecided voters based on a number of factors and Obama got a boost.  Since then some of the battleground states that were leaning red turned blue.  I don't know whether they're right or wrong on that.  If you scroll down the articles there's an explanation of the method behind sorting out the undecideds.

What follows may or may not be the cause, but electorvote's Ohio poll data is from Sunday, it is my understanding that such data on 583 is more recent.

  • Sweet! I think electoralvote does a metaanaylsis or something, i forget...maybe they're waiting for more polls to look at before updating? Who knows. Anyway, they have FL as a tie now, so it's definitely going in that direction since it's been leaning red this whole time!
