So I know we did this a while ago, but there's lots of new shows on now so I was wondering what everyone is loving these days. My current faves:
Amazing Race
Man V. Food
Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations
Bizarre Foods
Keeping Up with the Kardashians (I have no idea why or how I got hooked on this!)
Say Yes to the Dress (yes, I still love it - I love seeing the dresses!)
Okay, obviously I love reality tv and the Travel Channel. Is there anything else on these days, really?
Re: Poll: Fave TV Shows
We really love the new show Modern Family. Soooo funny.
I don't watch live TV anymore, but I DVR Grey's Anatomy, Oprah, 20/20 and Super Nanny.
And when I catch them, I waste way too much time on the Real Housewives and Project Runway marathons.
I really miss the quality comedy line ups from back in the day.... nothing nearly as good anymore.
Let's see...
Big Love (has got to be one of the best shows on TV, period)
The Office (I haven't clicked the post below because I haven't seen that episode yet)
The Simpsons (yes, I'm a 14-year-old boy at heart)
The Big Bang Theory (oh Sheldon...sometimes I think we share a brain...or at least just our food neuroses...as a side note, does it bother anyone else that the actress who plays Penny always does this thing where she licks/sucks her front teeth when she's being mildly sarcastic? She does it ALL THE TIME.)
Top Gear (British show about cars, which I know sounds bizarre but it is truly one of the funniest shows ever)
There are probably others, but I can't think of them because I'm lame.
Oh, and I don't watch any reality TV at all - soooo not into it!
Our favorites are LOST, The Amazing Race, Fringe, and NBC Thursdays. I'm still not 100% sold on Community, but Parks & Rec has gotten really funny in the second season, and of course The Office and 30 Rock still crack me up.
I also love Project Runway and Greek, but J is not so into those.
I love Hawaii!
Tara & Ian . 4/24/2008 . The Kahala Planning . Married
Always loved Amazing Race and sooo much fun watching Jeff & Jordan (from Big Brother).
LOST, Big Bang Theory (great casting & writing), Gossip Girl, The Mentalist
Like Tara mentioned I also really like the HGTV National Geographic and Discovery channels as well. Last night I was watching Lockdown (about prison imnates) and this one was somewhere in Australia....I think the place started with a C? and they were showing them eating bbq Kangaroo tails. I never knew this was a delicacy???
I am old fan of Six Feet Under and looking forward to seeing Peter Krause in Parenthood, as well, as the next season of Dexter with Michael C Hall.
My shows are LOST, Dexter, Entourage and True Blood. I can't wait for their new seasons to start! I started getting into BIG Love, but lost a bunch of episodes due to DVR'ing the Olympics so I have let Big Love go. DH watches HGTV and is totally into OverHaulin right now, so I see quite a bit of that as well. AND I can still be seen catching episodes of Bridezillas. My 11 yo son watches with me LOL!
My Skype dates with DH are usually around primtime (boo!) but when I can, I watch:
Ghost Hunters (regular and international)
Departures (not sure if this is just in Canada?)
How I met your mother
Lost
Bones
The office (reruns)
I've watched Lockdown a few times as well. We seem to watch shows like that, another one we like on A&E is Manhunters.
Oh... forgot to mention this, on HGTV I really enjoy House Hunters and Property Virgins, I love seeing what places cost in different states/countries.
I love Hawaii!
Tara & Ian . 4/24/2008 . The Kahala Planning . Married
Ryan are I are self professed couch potatoes. What the heck did we do before DVR??
Lisa: You're a fellow Simpsons lover! Woo Hoo! Me too, all the way back from the Tracy Ullman show. I have all the seasons on DVD that they have out so far. Long live Homer!!
Tara: I just started watching The Good Wife and I really like it. I need to catch the first part of the season online.
Kriss: I didn't watch Six Feed Under until Ryan made me rent the DVDs and I fell in love with the show and its characters. The season finale still makes me cry. Everyone was so talented on that show. And Keith was hot! LOL One of the best season finales I've ever seen.
Here's my list:
LOST
Big Bang Theory (cracks me up every week)
24
The Office
Community
Archer (total tongue in cheek adult humor..SO terribly funny)
Dexter
Bored to Death
Curb Your Enthusiasm
Dogtown (on Nat Geo...Sulu tends to bark at the screen when dogs are on)
I also watch Food Network nonstop. I love Ina and Giada, Iron Chef, all that good stuff
My shows (like myself) are all over the place. I like Reality shows like Amazing Race and Big Brother, Teen Mom (16 and Pregnant). I also like teeny poper shows like One Tree Hill and Glee. Then I can't give up my NCIS, CSI and Mentalist. Seriously I watch WAY too much TV. (Most of it is DVR'd and watch when Jaylee is sleeping/taking a nap)
Oh yes - Six Feet Under! Some of the episodes were hit or miss for me, but it had the BEST finale I've ever seen - just amazing!
This made me laugh:
I wouldn't call it a delicacy, as such...more of an cheap, traditional meat that was originally eaten because when you live in the outback and have to take down large animals using only a curved stick, you don't waste ANYTHING that you kill, you know? It is still eaten by some traditional Aboriginal groups - the stores in Alice Springs always used to have it because there are a lot of Aboriginal tribes in that area, but it was mostly for the older members of the tribes (the younger ones would probably rather have a Big Mac and fries lol).
It's certainly not standard fare.
For me it's LOST, Grey's, and Everybody loves Raymond reruns. I love reruns from when I was a kid too (Facts of life, Cosby show, I love Lucy...)
I want to start watching Brothers & Sisters, that looks pretty good.
Anna's top tier shows:
Glee
Mad Men
American Idol
LOST
Fringe
Top Chef
60 Minutes (it's an awesome show, trust me. you should watch it.)
Second Tier:
House
Project Runway
Law & Order (any version EXCEPT SVU, grosses me out)
Hoarders
yes, I am serious about my TV.
Criminal Minds
Psych
30 Rock
White Collar
OMG I can't believe I forgot this! YES! I'm dying for the new season to start...the last season finale was so awesome!
