Good Morning!
Just wanted to say Hi real quick; we have been insane at work lately... we hired & fired our 7th or 8th receptionist since November this week.... I lost count....
What are the plans for this weekend?
DH is working tomorrow
... I have an 11mi run planned for in the morning..really gotta get out there and do it, my half marathon is in March 21st (Eek!)
Sunday my BFF & I are volunteering at the Disney Princess Half Marathon, and when we are done we are spending the rest of the day at the Disney parks pretending we are tourists.. ha ha ha!! Should be fun, I haven't been to Disney since highschool.
Hope everyone has a great day. I work 830a-7p today. joy ![]()
Re: YAY! It's Friday!
Aw that sounds like a lot of fun - disney is so cool!
I have today off, it is Kevin's birthday. He has the day off too and we have a bunch of errands planned, I have to clean up the house and then we are going out to dinner with his family to a fancy steakhouse place (YES on a FRIDAY during LENT - I am a bad bad Catholic). Then his brother and sister-in-law are staying with us, I am seeing a HS play with my friend on Saturday and then it is his birthday party! Woohoo!
I am so glad that it is Friday! This week has been a long one!
I hear ya about Fridays during Lent...I am Catholic to! My Dh isnt and he trys to be good with me, but slips up. And I dont eat fish so I am stuck eating pb&j and grilled cheese or cheese pizza.
This weekend....hmmm. I really have no clue whats going on. Dh has been working with my dad on most weekend since December, and I believe he is going to not work this weekend to hang out with us...I think. He mentioned going fishing with his friend, I would like to go but havent been invited yet. I know we have to go visit his parents because we havent since Christmas...ya we are really bad. Other than that I want to enjoy the 60 degree weather we are supposed to have!!
Jena - your weekend sounds awesome! Hope you have fun volunteering at the 1/2 and hope your run goes well. Per your post on the H&F board, how do you normally convince your DH to bike along with you?? I want to work on that!
Meag - you also have a fun weekend ahead, so enjoy! Yum, steak....
Brit - Ooh - nice weather. Hope you get to enjoy that! Are you feeling good with this pregnancy? Same as with Kelsey?
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend, it's nice hearing what everyone's doing again.
Maybe I'll write about my weekend now! (cuz I forgot in my excitement of commenting on what you all are doing...)
Saturday we're making a much needed shopping trip for groceries, spring yard supplies, and stuff for the shower I'm planning for my SIL. I also plan to get in a nice long run at some point, clean the house and we'll be at the farm a bunch on Saturday night/Sunday.
I'm not superly looking forward to the shower next week. I've tried to organize a nice event, but I feel like it's still kind of so-so. (It's DH's little sis, who at 21 years old is planning her wedding just weeks after her college graduation.) It's been insanely hard to schedule anything wedding related because of all her college activities, so hope this works out!!
Pregnancy is going good...I am ready for him to come out already! But he needs to be in a few more weeks also. As for it being the same...not even close! With kelsey I thought I hated being pregnant bc it was the summer and I live in HOTlanta..hah but this one is totally different..tons of back pain and pressure but it also could have to do with that I am chasing around a 3 year old being 30 weeks pregnant!
Lisa,
DH does not like me to do long runs by myself, no convincing involved
.. i do have to convince him to get up early, but other then that its no issue. He actually likes it. It's good quality time we can spend together doing something we like outside.
That's fabulous! Maybe if we lived in a less rural area, DH would worry about my safety and come too! (Not that your area is unsafe or mine isn't with it's share of problems) However... my DH does like to bike and I'm terrible at it, so maybe this combo COULD work as the weather warms up. This may be an ignorant question - but is it hard to stay at about the same pace? I would think DH would be much faster on the bike, but if you're keeping a relatively steady pace at say 9 min/miles, is it hard to DH to mimic that on a bike?
Thanks Jena!! And, I agree about it being good quality time. It sounds fun:) Be safe on your run this weekend!
Chris just stays at whatever pace i'm running at. My training runs are no where near as fast as my races. .. I like it when he rides a little faster then I run that way I can try & keep up with him, he sort of paces me I guess.
The area we live in has no where to run or ride... We have to drive 30+ min to run... My fave trail is in a really rural area, surrounded by woods.. i'm really not that comfortable w/ running on that trail by myself.. & the other trail goes through a bad part of town--- I wrote on the H&F board a month or so ago about how I was running by myself after work one day and some kids sitting on a bench had a gun- the one holding it stood up and pointed it at me.... haven't been back to that trail.
the newest trail we found is pretty open, its right on a main highway, which is noisy & loud, but I feel safer. I'm a scaredy cat I guess, and he is kinda protective. ..... he wants me to get my concealed weapons permit so I can carry a gun while I run... Really Chris really? I'm like Uh, where would I put it? I usually wear spandex shorts & a tank.. uhhh.. lol he's crazy.
Have a good wknd! I hope you get a run in this wknd.
Any upcoming races you are signed up for?
