The sound of sweet success....
Both of my dogs panting...hard...from me running them with a bike!!! This was so much easier than fighting my malamute while walking (he loves to pull/drag me all over the neighborhood) and me trying to drag my bassett hound when she's trying to smell something. I may finally start being a better doggy parent and getting them the exercise they need (and me, but that's a whole other problem :P). Man I wish I would have tried this before!
Re: The sound of sweet success....
I actually just rode a regular 10 speed (I think, it's DH's since it was in front of mine and I was too lazy to move my car). It was actually not too hard to balance, but I'm easily able to touch the ground if needed. I think the hardest part was getting them to actually walk/run with the bike since they were used to it, but it was MUCH easier than I expected.
"The House We Built."
A journey of building the dream.
Actually, the part about pulling me off the bike is what I was really concerned about since it is hard for me to even walk Zero. But surprisingly, once we got a little faster where he needed to be nothing really distracted him (like birds, other dogs, etc) and he was kind of in the zone.
shanwalk2 - our bassett didn't even try to get in front, but Zero (the one in my siggy) only tried it once, but it was before we really got going. I did run into him, but nothing that would hurt him (I wasn't going very fast). But he stayed to the side the rest of the way
