For those who may be on the board today: Who do you think should win for the top categories?
I haven't seen most of those nominated (only Avatar actually) but I'm really hoping that Jeff Bridges wins (Dude!)
or
If you're seeing this on Monday, are you happy with the outcomes??
Re: Oscar's Poll
I've only seen a couple, Avatar, which I thought was a pretty good movie, the special effects were obviously amazing but the story itself was a bit meh. And Julie and Julia, which I thought Meryl Streep was great in, but I just love her. Same as Laina said with Jeff Bridges (who doesn't love Big Lebowski?)
I have it on right now on mute, while I'm editing some work (which you can tell is going well), but I'll probably just DVR it and watch it later. I do love seeing the dresses though, that's probably my favorite part.
I hope Alec Baldwin & Steve Martin are funny though, they seem like they could have great chemistry, but we'll see.
Geez, I didn't realize I had so much to say when I started typing this!
We watched most of it and I thought that the hosting was pretty good..but Alec Baldwin seemed to just be there to make Steve Martin seem even funnier. I didn't think Baldwin really added anything.
Also, what was the deal with George Clooney? Was he abnormally grumpy the entire time or what?
I thought the awards themselves went to the right movies/people..none of them really surprised me
I'm happy that Sandra Bullock won because I think that she is just adorable and a great actress. I haven't seen The Hurt Locker, but my brother absolutely hated it and said that he almost walked out. I was convinced that Precious would win best picture, so that was a little surprising.
George Clooney did seem really off. I can't imagine ever being in a bad mood if I were in his shoes!
I thought that the hosts were pretty good. The opening part with them seemed over-rehearsed, but I still laughed.
