Way to make Monday better

I should've taken a picture of this, but this morning I took Xena outside to go potty before I left and noticed this little gold bag hanging on the chain link section of the fence (kind of like this bag):

It was early (6:15ish) and I thought "Greg didn't leave that there for a poo-bag.. WTF?!"

So I went over and picked it up... DEFINITELY not left there by Greg.  But by the only neighbor we've met in the area (her backyard butts up to the right side of our backyard, so we share a fence.  We've met her very "Home Improvement" style over the fence.)

She left us a note saying she couldn't make our Housewarming Open House, but if she could help with food or anything, to give her a call, and also included some Cointreau chocolates and a mini-bottle of Jose Quervo!

  • Awww...that's really sweet.

Is your new landlord as good as you had hoped?  I keep meaning to ask but keep forgetting when I'm online.

I still think he's not sure what to make of us. LOL  He put up a temporary fix for the fence (until spring when he can put up the new one; just extra chain link he had & screwed into the wood fence to cover the gaps in fencing overall.)  He put up a new front door light and redid the numbers on the front of the house (we had no complaints with the old ones; he just didn't like them and said he wanted the numbers to stand out more because delivery people had a hard time seeing them for his side, apparently.)

So he's shown great promise; it's tough to say since it's still technically winter and there's only so much you can do.  But the guy is SUPER nice... it's still very "feeling each other out".  I LOVE his dog - he's like a cartoon character and SO SWEET.  (If he sees you're outside or the garage door is open, he comes to the edge of the garage and stands there like "Hello?  Did you want to pet me now?" LOL  But he won't come in unless you call him.  The landlord is all over him to GET OUT of our space, but we don't care and joke that he and Xena are bf/gf.  They go crazy for each other and had SO MUCH FUN playing in the backyard Saturday.)

  • It sounds like a MUCH better situation than you had before.  That's great!

Side note: you keep telling me to put up new pics of D and A.  I posted some of FB yesterday.  :)

Oh my goodness - I love them!!  (I apparently had WAY too many status updates to scroll through - I missed like 4 people's picture updates. Sad) If it wouldn't get me in seriously hot water, I'd steal them both (my puppy, on the other hand, would NOT be happy! LOL)

They're GORGEOUS - I particularly love the ones of Anya staring with that worship on her puppy face... that right there is what sold both Greg & I on the GSD breed.

This is bad... we've talked a little about getting a second dog now that we have a fenced in yard but decided against it.  But seeing them... really makes me want another. LOL

Too funny - I love their personality differences.  He's a crazy, hyper nut who cares about his bone and nothing but his bone; she's the lover, full of adoration for her "daddy".

  • The funniest part about the two is that she used to be the hyper crazy one and he used to be the laid back one.  I think it's just because she's coming out of the puppy phase and he's still in it strong (he's not yet a year old! - he will be in a few days though).

My favorite pic is him running and the bone is flying through the air but still in his mouth.  He's my baby.  She's definitely MH's baby.  He still protects me from delivery men (and the mail lady - he doesn't appreciate her pulling in the driveway).  She, on the other hand, watches him bark and growl and protect and stays a safe distance away.

  • Aww what nice neighbors!

I am so happy this landlord seems to be much more on top of things, that must be a relief.
