how was your weekend?

Ours was busy and hectic (for DH, anyway!).  Friday Elise was sick, but DH went to a political thing for someone we know.  Then Saturday she was sick but DH cleared out some overgrowth in the way back yard, then used an acid thing to clean the garage room/extra room floor to get ready for staining, of course he had to remove everything from the room first, so he was up till like 3 am doing that!  Then yesterday Elise was feeling better, but laying low and DH painted the floors (turned out to be paint, not stain like the can said) and installed a parking pad next to the driveway.

Poor guy's gotta be sore today!

I'll be busy today, going jogging, then going to BB&B to get a gift card for a friend's wedding and some ramekins for individual pot pies, then to the grocery store.

Re: how was your weekend?

  • We too were busy, we had two guests from NYC stay with us. Saturday we went hiking, OK so it was hiking for me, but strolling for them. We took Nanette and Pappagano so that was fun for me. Then we strolled around the town for a little. I ended up going to bed really early though, I had a righteous headache. Sunday we went downtown and went to several historical sites which was nice. Then we dropped them off and John and I got the most amazing burgers, EVER! Got my hair cut and we came home. John's going to finish the nursery this week, the only left is the shoe molding, but he has to get that, then prime and paint it. So I'm hoping to set up the crib this week!

  • Weekend was okay. Friday night I met up with my cousin who is going through a break up. Saturday I cleaned the apartment because OMG it was nasty. Saturday night we went to Fleur de Lis with friends. So good :) Yesterday I sat outside at CCs and did homework. It was so pretty.

  • It was pretty awesome! Did a lot of gardening, so I feel accomplished!
  • It was so nice this weekend!  I'm annoyed that it's now going to rain for the next 3 days.  MrShoe worked all weekend and I layed low.  We had date night on Friday, Hello Sushi was awesome, as always.  The rest of the weekend I did some housework, walked around the neighborhood, ate pineapple & spicy foods and finally packed all of our bags.  And went to book club on Sunday.

  • Friday we had the inspections.  Nothing major, except we're asking the sellers for termite treatment since they let their termite contract elapse (and they found termites on some landscaping timbers).  Should hear back today on that.

Saturday my niece had a math tournament, so we went to that for a bit.  They ended up winning 1st place as a team.  We came home early so DH could go for his long haul run with his best friend.  I called it their scenic tour of Sulphur, since they ran 9 miles.  The guys have decided they want to run a marathon in the next year; I think we're pulling for the Disney marathon.  I might even get up the gumption to do the 5k that weekend too.

On Sunday we went to a friend's farm.  Other than that, nice and relaxing. DH starts back on his MBA classes this week.  He also has meetings in Alabama this week, so I'm riding with him halfway and going to see a friend in Slidell! YAY!

  • i was a total tourist in Atlanta.

Christen, what is a parking pad? i am very curious.

well James was parking next to the driveway, in the grass so he wouldn't block me or our tenant who rents the apartment we have behind the house.  And was making ruts.  He got the bobcat and cleared it out and put crushed granite down, which will harden and be almost like concrete so it won't mess the yard up with ruts.

  • ohhhhhh, that works! yeah, we have plenty of ruts in our yard at the moment thanks to my BIL getting stuck and have DH pull him out.
  • Mine was non-eventful. The normal bedrest routine (only one more week - woohoo)! The highlight of my weekend was sitting out on the patio in the fabulous weather. I have had cabin fever like crazy, I broke the rules and sat outside. It was fabulous.
