Yesterday dd woke up with a cough and runny nose and was a lttle warm nothing to write home about. She was a little grumpy but for the most part her busy active self. Last night she actually "told" me she wanted to go to bed. She crwled over to the couch, pulled herself up and made her "pick me up" sign and then kept putting her head on my shoulder and growling (my baby doesn't cry when she is grumpy, she growls). I put her to bed and she wouldn't take her soother and she went to sleep right away. I went downstairs to watch the Oscars and I could hear her coughing hard through the baby monitor and then she screamed. I ran upstairs and there was puke all over her bed. I picked her up and she threw up all over me. She threw up for another few minutes and had a fever it was only 100.1 and since she was never higher than 99 yesterday it was an increase. I gave her some Tylenol and some diluted apple juice and changed her into lighter pjs.
It took a long time to get to the point where she would let me put her back down and she went to sleep around 11:30. That was last night.
This morning she is still asleep but has no fever and she is still congested and coughing but not as badly. I am trying to decide if this is a wait and see or if I should say "screw it, you're canadian it doesn't cost you anything and better safe than sorry" If I call the doctors they will tell me to come in.
Thoughts? Maybe I am going to call Tele health.
Re: To go to the doctors or not go to the doctors
I would see how she is, if she is taking fluids and still has wet diapers I would hold off. If she stops drinking or wetting diapers get her to emerg.
I have never called Telehealth without them recommending seeing a doctor. That's always their answer, so you might as well not waste your time calling them.
Go with your gut, you are her mom, you know if something is really wrong.
