  I really like the bench. I actually looked at it but our foyer at the new house is too small for anything. I just seen it comes in many different colors. I think the mahogany color would look great with the painting. Or are you looking at using a different color?

  Personally, I like the looks of the table w/painting better.  The bench is NMS, though, so maybe that's it?  But the bench + the painting doesn't quite seem right.

  What would be more useful for you to have there?  Would you use a table there or the bench?

  Before I even saw you had links I thought a table and wall art would be a good idea.  I'm not sure I like the baskets though.  I like the wall art you chose.  I think it'd go well with your colors.

  I don't think either is needed but in terms of decorating the house, something should go there.  I think the table would just hold decorative items and the bench most likely would only be used by David for climbing purposes.

  What about something like this?

  

  We have a console table in our entry way, it's a catch all and drives me slightly crazy but it fills the space, we have a mirror above it.

  Is that your main entry to the house? Like the one you use all the time? If so I like the idea of the bench, but not sure it looks substantial enough on that long wall. And if you don't really use that as your main door a bench might now be the right choice. The table and pictures would visually take up more space.

  That's the front door, where guests and such would come in.  There is another door in the picture there (where we come in off of the garage).  I'm leaning more towards the table, just because guests usually take off their shoes right at the entrance and not when they walk in a few feet and our shoes are normally taken off in the garage.
