Just wanted to be sappy/complain-y for a moment. No one IRL (except my mom a little bit) has been cute about my kittens. She did call last night to see how Max (formerly Tucker) was doing after the vet, but otherwise, no one else in my family has responded to my e-mail about them, their pictures, etc. I know it's totally lame, but I wanted them to care or at least acknowledge.
You have all been 100% more awesome than my family and friends. I know they're just kittens, but seriously. It's at least a little bit of a big deal, right? And I respond even when they send me stupid e-mail forwards. I just think that's polite, isn't it? I called my SIL to tell them on Sunday, and her first response is that we're turning into this one weird branch of my family we all talk about (for many other reasons as well) who has 8 cats. Yes, 3 is the same as 8.
Thanks again for caring. You all are the best. It really means a lot to me.
Re: NER: I love you guys
Aw, I'm sorry
I think some people just aren't really big on animals, or they don't understand how important this is to you.
Anybody who can't even send back a 5 second reply telling you congrats, how cute they are, etc. is thoughtless, IMO.
And seriously, those are the CUTEST kittens. I don't see how anybody could NOT melt looking at those pictures.
Thank you! I agree, how hard is it to say, "Aww, so cute! I can't wait to meet them!"
Done. Less than 10 seconds. ILs haven't said anything. I think they're mad that I sent the e-mail and DH didn't. Whatever, I don't need their crap.
Well, this explains your Facebook status. Bunny, you're sweet and nice and your ILs are weird. Cute kittens, nuff said!
I LOVE kittens so please gush away. Can you please post more pics though? I thought someone paged you for some yesterday.
::running off to look::
Here's both of them:
Here's Max:
And Sophie:
No, you don't, it's OK.
My stepmother threw a "puppy shower" the other weekend for my stepsister after buying her a $2,000 purebred puppy. Now that is another story...
Ditto all this. Freaking adorable!
Wait. Sorry to derail the post, bunny, but... a puppy shower?
Were I invited to such a thing I would roll my eyes and make up an excuse so as to not attend.
I'm with you, Brookles. One too far for sure!
I think adding 2 new members to your family is a huge deal! Esp. when they are so freakin cute
I woudl be sad if my family didnt acknowledge my new family members too. Sorry they are being crappy.
Aww, it sucks when people so close to you can't get excited about something that is such a huge deal to you!!! That's not cool.
But we puffy heart the kitty updates and pictures. Keep 'em coming!!!
CUTIE PIES!!! I want to hug them.
Yeah, exactly. My problems with buying a $2,000 purebred puppy are already well-known here, but the puppy shower was the last straw.
DH wanted to send a "Donation made in your name to the Fulton County Animal Shelter" card as a puppy shower gift. Heh.
Your H is my new hero! Love it!
Thanks everyone for all the sweet things you've said! I'm also mad at the ILs because DH just started a new job and they haven't even called to see how it's going. They're such ass holes sometimes. They never encourage him.
Thankfully, both of my parents have asked him about it many times and acted excited. I'm happy that they care and want to see how he's doing.
