Resume Advice

I am applying internally at my company to another job position and need everyones advice.

Is it totally taboo to have a resume that is two pages long?  I have 8 years of employment history in two different fields which is perfect for the position that I am applying to and I don't want to reduce my content if I don't have to.   Thoughts?

Re: Resume Advice

  • I used to work in a career services office helping students write resumes.  No. It is definitely not taboo to have a two page resume.  However, don't make it in size five font and don't go to three pages.  As long as it's relevant, list it.

Agree!  I work right beside career services (at a college). Good luck friend! Big Smile

  • Couldn't agree more. As long as it isn't fluff, it stays. Good luck!

  • Just jumping in to say that I agree. As long as everything your listing has something to do with the job you are applying for, go for it.
  • Thanks girls!  I just broke the news to my current boss that I am looking to get into another area/department.  She took it surprisingly well.  I will let you know how it goes!
