There's a potentially interesting job listing on Craig's List right now. I've got all the qualifications more or less and I'd like to apply. They ask for a resume and references.
But, it doesn't say the name of the law firm, it just gives the Craig's List email address as the contact. I'm fine with sending my resume off, but I really don't want to send my references contact info to some unknown email address. It just seems weird to me.
Am I being paranoid? Or is there some way I should address this? Saying "references available upon request" seems a little weird, since they are requesting it.
I have 4 or 5 references that I like to use, and I pick and choose 3, depending on the specific characteristics of the job, and I don't have enough to go by without knowing the firm, so I'd really like to postpone giving them this info if possible.
Any ideas on how to word something artfully?
Re: NER - quick question re job application
Good point about the resume stealing stuff, I never thought about that.
Hmmm...now I have to think about this even more.
I like TTT's suggestion.
We post jobs on craigslist sometimes, too (but according to my boss we get better applicants advertising elsewhere), but we do give out the name of our company.
Perfect idea. The ad is mum about the CA bar, so I'll email them and ask about that.
