  I don't have one, but just wanted to note that there is a FREE Kindle by Amazon app on the iPhone. I downloaded it and have used it a time or two. I'm pretty sure the screen is smaller than the actual Kindle screen, but for Free-99, I'm not complaining.

  I have the smaller version and I love it. I travel constantly and the Kindle is fast becoming one of my best purchases ever. I chose the smaller one for a couple of reasons. A.) the size allows me to throw it in any purse, whereas the larger one (although equally thin) only fits in medium-large bags. To me, it was almost more cumbersome than some thick hardcovers in terms of travel, and B.) I found the font size options on the smaller version on par with the larger one. For me, the smaller one just travels better. It is super easy to read and I have yet to experience any eye strain from the screen. The best part? Book downloads are significantly cheaper than buying the paper editions. Score. Plus, I used to weigh down my suitcases with books (I'm a fast reader). Over my winter holiday I downloaded (and finished) three books-- from the beach! Highly recommend.

  I don't have one personally but a good friend does and takes it with her everywhere.  She raves about it often and has never complained of eye strain.

  Perfect-thanks for the information.  I want to be able to carry it in my purse and I figured the big one would get a bit annoying.  I am sick of lugging around tons of books b/c I read so fast.

  I also have the smaller one and love it.

  It is so awesome for travel. I love books and reading, and the Kindle will never replace books in my life, but it is great for commuting, flying, long trips, etc.
