decorating/building question - shower floors?

I posted this on the D&R board, but wanted your opinions too!

We are putting a stand alone shower in the masterbath & I want to do white subway tiles on the walls.  Yesterday the contractor asked what did I want on the shower floor?  I have no idea...I hadn't even thought once about the shower floor!!  (I had no idea how many decisions have to be made when building/remodeling a house!)

What do you think?  any ideas?

Re: decorating/building question - shower floors?

  • Maybe take a trip over to Home Depot or the Great Indoors and see what they use in their staged ones?
Arrived 4.5 weeks early due to PROM

  • Oh! And don't go w/ white grout!!  It stains and is SO hard to keep looking clean, I learned the hard way :(

  • I love the look of subway tile!  How about white octagonal tiles - I think they come in sheets.  Here's an idea (although it's the floor of a bathroom and not the shower):

I just used google image search to find examples.  Good luck and PIP when the work is done.

  • I love that picture! It's got a great art deco vibe.

I was also going to recommend this or the ones that have some black octogons mixed in.

  • I love that photo of the octagonal tiles!
  • We have white tiles on the walls and chocolate brown ones on the floor of our shower, and it looks pretty good...that said, I looooove the octagonal tile look!
