Got a question for you work savvy ladies.
If you remember, I had my second interview for dream job last Monday, and I thought it went pretty well. I was told at the end of the interview that they would be making their decision within a week, and would like someone to start as soon as possible.
Last Friday, I was speaking with the admin asst. for the human rights program I was a fellow for in law school (I have the Director listed as my top reference), and she informed me that the Director was having issues with his voicemail, so to direct all calls to her to make sure they were promptly returned. So on Monday, I sent an email with the correct information to the "main" person I interviewed with at dream job company, and included your standard "I'm very interested in position, please let me know if you need anything else to evaluate my candidacy, blah blah blah". No response.
So now I'm wondering what I should do. Is it appropriate for me to call tomorrow (maybe Thursday?) and reiterate my interest in the position, or should I just play the waiting game and hope I don't get a "no" letter in the mail? I don't want to seem stalker-esque, but I REALLY (no, as in REALLY) want this job (hence it's "dream job" moniker
).
Thoughts? tia
Re: NER - Job question
Decisions always take longer than planned.
Do you know if any of your references have been contacted? If they have, then I would probably just hold off. It's clear they are moving and are probably just figuing out some internal stuff.
If they haven't, then I think it's worth a phone call or an email tomorrow morning to ask what the status of the hiring decision is.
Thanks, ESF.
FWIW, that's actually why I was speaking with the admin asst. - I was being nosy and checking to see if anything had happened.
I might send off an email to a couple of my other references and see if they've been contacted.
If not, do you think phone or email is best?
