Husband For Sale!

I'm so frustrated today with my DH & buying a house!!!! We are at the point the prices are going up & being out priced for our budget. He won't budge or negiotate on anything. He wants to live in one neighborhood & that's it. He gets all excited about crabby houses. A nice one come along & he doesn't want it. I'm ready to quit looking. I don't want to live in a dump. The house we have an offer on now he doesn't want to buy because of cosmetic things. I'm just frustrated! Will pay someone to take him off my hands!

Re: Husband For Sale!

  • Sorry, my HOA only allows me to have one husband at a time, I'll keep an eye out on Craigslist for someone who wants one, though Stick out tongue

But that's frustrating, sorry. It's no fun to deal with a stubborn person on something like that. Yeah, that may be a nice neighborhood, but there's always the possibility of it going downhill or not being the right  neighborhood for you two. I hope he starts to flex some, and sees that a house is a house, and that no matter what, you'll have to fix up ANY house cosmetically to make it yours.

  • No thanks i got my own PITA :) Buuuut I will say, i remember looking at all these houses and Serg being the same way.. wanting to live in a specific neighborhood/area and picking all these ugly looking houses that had so much work needed....

Maybe take a 2 or 3 week break from looking at houses... or sit down and go through again what exactly you're looking for and what you can live without or compromise on. Its frustration as hell i know!

  • I'm sorry about that! Its so frustrating! Men. Ugh.

Most people change things cosmetically when they buy a house. No house is perfect until you make it perfect for you.

  • I'm going to pass also. I got my hands full with TJ. lol.

but I understand completely. The neighborhood we're in.. well, i should say school district... tj was against at first also. But he came around and finally realized we weren't going to find a nice place, in our price range in the better SD next to us. So he finally let me expand our search. And you should have seen some of the dumps he wanted. I was like 'no way! it would cost a ton to fix this up!'

Is he more interested in fixer uppers then? maybe you guys can find a medium ground. Thats what we did. The house has enough work to keep tj busy but I'm perfectly fine living in it the way it is till it gets done.

I would take alittle break. Maybe the pressure is getting to you both. Right after 'breaks' is when we found any potentials.
