Do you and your DH have a 'catch phrase'? Something you say to each other a lot that other people may not understand but means something to you?
I realized yesterday that we say "Patience and Humor" to each other a lot. It was in our wedding vows, and it's become a kind of inside joke...whenever one of us is worked up about something, we say 'patience and humor.' It kind of lightens the mood. I'm actually thinking of making a sign out of it to hang at my desk at work...I think it might help my mindset!
Re: 3/10 Catch phrase?
I really like that... "patience and humor."
Hmm I'm not sure that we have a catch phrase... The line from our wedding that always comes up is "All that I have I'll share with you." We use that one against one another constantly :-P
That's a good one too. I can imagine using "all that I have I'll share with you" a lot!
We have lots of other phrases that come up a lot. Whitman, our gray dog, seems to forget every day that Alton, the white one, doesn't play. Every morning Whitman tries to play with Alton, and Alton rejects him. We always say "today is not the day, maybe tomorrow!" We use that in the rest of our life too.
And when DH seems to know something that makes no sense why he knows that bit of info, I say "so basically, it's a ganache." Backstory--I was telling his cousins about a cheesecake topping, and out of nowhere, DH said "so basically, it's a ganache." It's become a family joke, and I even bought him a T-shirt with that phrase on it from Christmas.
We're losers, I know
We have lots but our newest favorite is one that we picked up from some friends. The H yelled at his wife in a rage "I work way too hard to be this damn poor" and then she told me about it (and now I'm posting it on the internets).
So now when I tell H that he can't buy something, he yells that at me and then we fall over in a fit of giggles.
