DH and i have been buying our seafood from the wharf in DC for a while. then last night a CW told me a story of why she does not buy her seafood there anymore. now granted it was several, several years ago, but i am kinda grossed out. but now i do not know where to buy seafood. i thought that was our best option.

Re: any DC area greenies??

  • I'm in the DC area. I buy my seafood either at M. Slavin and Sons off Glebe Rd. in Arlington (literally just off 395) or a Whole Foods. Slavin has super fresh seafood although not all of it is sustainable. They are however very transparent about where their seafood comes from so you can make good choices from what they offer. Same goes for Whole Foods.

  • *Giggle* at "greenies", I like that!  We're in the D.C. suburbs and when we ate seafood we went to Whole Foods or Wegman's.

  • I <3 Wegmans.

I think i need to make a badge for that.  I'm seriously obsessed with Wegmans, and they have so much variety in ummm everything.
