Anything good happening today...

I'm grumpy today for no real reason.  And I'm bored of sitting home with DH since his heart surgery.  We are both going stir crazy!  Anyone have any good, funny or happy news going on today?

Re: Anything good happening today...

  • I had the most amazing experience at CVS today, of all places.  This will make you smile:

I walked in and there was a lady sitting near the pharmacy.  She had a baby in a carrier on the floor in front of her and she was on the phone with a huge smile on her face and talking loudly.  I heard her tell her friend on the phone that she'd just come straight from an adoption hearing where the judge made her the legal mommy of this gorgeous baby.

When she got off the phone I congratulated her and she told me she'd had the baby since she was 5 days old (a CPS case) and now she's 5 months.  She also said that she'd expected the hearing today just to be a status update and was ready for several more months of being in and out of court, so this was a surprise.  She kept saying, "She's all mine, she's all mine."  I know I'm hormonal right now but it brought me to tears.

It was such a joy to see someone on the happiest day of her life.

    What a great story!

Last night my family finalized dates for our Ireland trip this summer.  There will be 20 of us (grandparents, cousins, aunts, etc) and I can't wait!

wow!!!! After reading this... I've got nothin'

    THAT is an amazing day.

Well, I guess the only good news for today for me is that I get off work at 6:30 tonight instead of 9:30pm.  The possibilities are endless with those extra three hours.  Yay!

I have not been hormonal at all with this pregnancy (except being annoyed at people) but this almost brought tears to my eyes. If I wasn't at work I'd be crying.

That made me tear up too..so wonderful; thanks for sharing. My sister has a friend who has been going through that same ordeal with the baby she's trying to permanently adopt and I cannot wait for the day the friend puts that good news on her blog. She doesn't post on her blog much, but it is one of my very favorites to read because she talks about how much she and her husband love that baby and how badly they want him. http://colinanderica.blogspot.com/

Wow, that too is awesome!  I don't know that I am a strong enough woman to deal with what people go through to adopt a baby!  Good Luck to them!  *And now off to read her blog some more!*

  • That story is amazing Hoyt. My eyes sting with tears a little reading it.

We got our honeymoon plans squared away finally. I scored a 168 on my practice LSAT yesterday. It's no longer 20 degrees in Columbus. All is right with the world on a Wednesday.

  • 168!!!!!!!!!

    That's Harvard-good, baby!  Congrats, smartybritches!

  • LOL. Thanks! When I first started playing the logic games I threw my book out the window and yelled 'EFF THIS!' Oh how far we've come. Haha.
