How Long...

...until this board totally fades away?

I was talking to my friend and fellow Knottie/Nestie who got me hooked on the site. She was engaged in 2006 and married in 2007.

She told me that her '07 board was a lot like this one -- very active and close through the wedding, and about a year afterwards. She checked recently and there'd been no new posts on their anniversary board in over two months (maybe longer, she just saw 2 months).

I've been trying to post more, but it seems like all the conversations have been dwindling. Are we "outgrowing" our J'09 community? Have people moved on? Is it because everyone is hanging out on The Bump so all us childless folks will be left alone twiddling our thumbs?

Just curious as to what everyone else thinks.

Re: How Long...

  • I don't know, but I'm kind of dreading it. It's so sad to think of how busy we were in our heyday, and now it's like we have nothing to talk about. There's only so many polls or AW posts I can start before I just look completely ridic.

I see that people are viewing the posts, but there's very little interaction and posts started by people, and I haven't been able to figure out why.

  • Well, I know for me, when I stop posting, it will be from the long-lasting despair from knowing my head didn't float on a stick at this weekend's GTG. Sigh.

  • I hope this board doesn't fade b/c my local sort of blows.

    agreed.

I also think since most people are linked up on fb, twitter, email, etc there's less reason to come here to catch up.  Conversations are still happening just not neccessarily through TN.  And there are definitely some who ran off to the Bump to be in ginormous oversharing siggy heaven.

  • LOL, lucky.

    Hey, Leigha. Here you are!

  • Life has been super busy for us which is why I haven't been posting as much.  Plus I can't access it while at work, which makes things challenging.  To top it off, we got new phones which have the data package now, so I am rarely on the computer as I can check my email and go on FB from my phone...unfortunately though, I can only read Nest posts, I can't post back.

I also feel like I'm sorta outgrowing it, but it might just be the "phase" I feel like I'm going through right now.  I haven't even been posting on my other favorite board.

This exactly! I'm not on that often because I can't access TN at work anymore : (  Also it is Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday before I actually do get on so I just read what people are up too and what I missed for the week. I figure it is silly to respond to a post 3 or 4 days old. Since I'm not on FB with any of you, I would be sad if this board died.

Ha! All is almost forgiven ;)

Nah, seriously, I have a feeling I'll still be around for awhile, even if it is just lurking if/when the board starts dying any more than it already is.

And I promise not to defect even if what happened in Vegas didn't stay there!
