I just gotta get this out so I don't scream or cry here at work. Dealing with insurance companies is a part-time job!! I have an insurance plan that requires referrals for everything. And because I go to so many freaking doctors and need so many tests it's a regular occurence. It's so frustrating. I just spent almost an hour calling around trying to get schedulled for a PET Scan that I have been waiting on for over a month. I had to call, my PCP, specialist, imaging facility coordinator and insurance company (twice) to get it all coordinated. I live in NJ but all of my care is happening in PA. They are in network but out of state so that makes it intersting. Ugh. And now I am waiting to hear back on my appt date and time.
I am blessed to have insurance and God knows I am thankful for it, but they certainly dont' make it easy! I can't imagine what a person who is elderly or disabled or not fluent goes through. It's a crime IMO. If I am this frustrated I can't imagine what other people go through. I can easily see how someone would just give up and not have tests done.

i feel ya pain Ger! with all the insurance stuff and drs serg has been through in the past several years I know how much of a pain it can be! I really do hate insurance companies.
Did you know that the insurance company wouldn't cover my nieces MEDICALLY neccessary contacts when she was an infant bc even though they were medically neccessary they still fell under the "COSMETIC" category!?
I hate dealing with these stupid companies and also having to call a billion and 1 drs so i can understand your frustration! Hang in there!
