So Jaylee will be 9 months tomorrow and I have tons of people getting on my case about her first birthday party. I know that we want a garden/insect theme but I am at a loss for ideas from there.. Since we have some many crafty/artistic nesties here I thought I would come and get some ideas.. TIA ladies...
Re: BR- First Birthday ideas
The first birthday party is really all about you. 1 year olds have fun and giggles with all of your friends and family. I wouldn't worry about a 1 year old theme as much as I would worry about what the adults will enjoy.
1 = YAY for attention! Get funny, floaty balloons that are safely out of reach, yummy cake to smash (good idea to have cupcakes that are non-drool-covered for the guests) and toys. Focus the rest of the attention on what the adults will do for the time they are there.

Yup!
If you're thinking about insects, maybe do cupcakes in a wavy row to make it look like a caterpillar?

I love the idea of cupcakes in a caterpillar shape - very cute!
If you're decorating tables or a buffet, you could have centerpieces made of little pails or flower pots (tie some ribbon around them to make them festive) filled with crumbled chocolate cake and gummy worms. Like these, but bigger.
Here are a bunch of bug-themed invitations.

Ooooh those lanterns in the first picture are so cute! (And easy, which is a plus in my book lol.)
Thanks ladies. Apparently my mother and MH have thought about this way more than I have. They want terra cotta pots painted in pastels with sugar cookie flowers in them. Add the gummy worms and crushed oreos and that will be our center pieces. Hahaha Plus mom had bought TONS of butterflies to hang so that should be cool. Next step is working on the invites. Wish me luck.
Lori, I've been thinking about you.. Isn't Brookie almost 10 months? You thinking about her party yet.
