Yesterday was an absolutely beautiful day here in Illinois, sunny and in the mid-to-high 60s. Of course I was in the a great mood because of the weather, went to meet my friend for lunch around 1, then on the way back to work I got pulled over by a cop. Yep, I was indeed going 43 in a 30. On top of getting a speeding ticket, I happened to change purses yesterday morning and forgot to put a stack of cards (including my insurance card) back in my purse. So I also got a ticket for being uninsured. Even though I am insured and just need to take my proof of insurance in to court with me when I go so they can dismiss that charge. The cop took my license as bond, so I don't even have a license until my court date next month.
Then I started feeling some pelvic pressure and contractions so I called my ob's office around 4. The doctors had already left, so they told me to go to labor & delivery at the hospital. Turns out I was contracting regularly so had to have 2 shots of something that made my pulse race and made me ultra-jittery--but the contractions stopped. Diagnosis: UTI. Now I'm on antibiotics for a week and working from home for the rest of this week so I can drink tons of fluids.
On the positive side, I learned a few lessons: 1) keep your insurance card in the car; 2) at least try to identify a creative excuse if pulled over in the future (I posted this on the 3rd tri board and one person said she dumped some water on her pants and told the cop she had peed on herself and was rushing home); 3) you can give the cop your AAA card as bond (why didn't I think of this before?!); and 4) there are free movies in L&D at my hospital that are fairly new releases. DH and I watched The Proposal, which wasn't great, but at least it kept us entertained for the 3 hours we were there.

Haha, I'd take him the hospital bill and say "clearly I was headed for a bathroom in urgent need and too embarrassed to tell the officer that stopped me"
Worth a try!
Sorry about the ticket and the UTI. Hopefully you're feeling better!
