I was a finance major. I have to count on my fingers to add and I don't understand the stock market at all. My husband has to pay all the bills and thinking about the bail out makes my head hurt.
I wonder what she'd say about me.

Sigh... I kinda 'know' her from a different message board from a long time ago. I don't talk to her much anymore. Just tonight she tried to have an AIM debate with me about politics. First she slammed Palin (not knowing I was a republican) then proceeded to try to grill out of me 'why do you like her. she's cooky. she does not believe in global warming. she believes dinosaurs and humans inhabited the earth at the same time. what policies of obama's are 'too liberal' after I told her 3 times I was in no mood to debate polictics or defend my candidates. Sigh..... Look, I don't even post on the election board anymore because I find it more and more pointless everyday. I'm not about to have an AIM debate over this! Geez.

The women has not worked in journalism in over 20 years.
I got my accounting degree over 20 years ago and so much has changed. I can't keep up with all the new regulations but it is not necessary for my job. I teach basic accounting (the good old rules of debits & credits) at a community college level. If I had to go back and start naming FASBs and SASs I would be lost!
I do keep up on personal income tax because I do that on the side as well as teach it.
Unless you stay in a specific field for life, you are going to lose some of the skills and knowledge you aquired long ago. Even if you do Continuing Education you are going to focus on what you need in your job today.
Reading the mess yesterday about the crisis and the changes in the accounting rules etc. was blowing me away.
Why oh why do we have to have such a similar name and be from the same state???
