and they have been showing these commercials on TV about bad side effects from it and class action lawsuits because of these side effects. Some of them are pretty bad and I have always thought, hmm that's interesting, glad that didn't happen to me! Well they just had a thing on the news about it. Many women who take it end up needing their gallbladders removed. Not that i am thinking of joining a lawsuit but I do find it interesting that until now everyone just chalked up my sudden gallbladder issues to having been pregnant. Now I have to wonder if maybe it was because of the pill? It's interesting.

Re: So I took Yazmin
When I was a teen I was on Diane35, which I believe was pulled from the market due to high incidences of stroke. I was so upset when my doctor took me off it, and I never found a type of contraceptive I liked as much as that one. The rest all had side effects, including wicked migraines (it's odd that the one that was deemed to be too strong didn't give me any side effects and all the others did, but whatevs).
I went off bcp when ttc, pregnant, and bf-ing, and once I stopped bf-ing I was contemplating going on the pill again. I decided against it. After my experiences with side effects, and hearing about strokes and other problems making headlines in the news, I decided that the risk (although small I'm sure) wasn't one I wanted to take.
Since then, I talked to a naturopath about my PCOS and she attributed it to my years of bcp use. I'm not sure if I believe her or not, but my first symptoms showed up as soon as I went off Diane35 (and it's entirely possible that the pill was covering my symptoms- I went on it when I was 15 and was off it at 19). I've wondered since then if that was the cause.
I started taking it before there were commercials for it. I was put on it because I had issues with other pills. The doctor I was seeing at the time said that the side effects were the same as other pills but milder and it would help with the insane PMS. I thought, cool and was fine on it. When I stopped taking it and was seeing my regular doctor and told him what pill I was on he got mad at me for taking it without talking to him.
When I go for my physical I will mention it. I have my gallbladder out now so it's not like it can be a problem for me anymore!
