TTCing and Green tea and POM Juice

Re: TTCing and Green tea and POM Juice

  • From my couple months on the Getting Pregnant board, green tea supposedly increases your fertile cervical fluid. And POM, I can't remember what was said.

I learned a ton from lurking on the GP board.

  • I just read that you should stay away for Green Tea.  It is okay when you are TTC but not when you are PG, but because you don't have a *Ding, baby in the oven* warning, that it is just best to avoid it.

I am reading What to Expect Before Expecting, and I just read the chapter on what is good, and not good for you in the pre-conception stage.

  • first of all, i second nicole's suggestion of lurking on GP, or checking out the website that is maintained by the moderators of that board - here. the thing about pomegranate juice that i have read is that it helps increase your uterine lining. if you have not had a mid-cycle check on your lining, you don't know if you will need it. also, they recommend  not doing POM juice, unless it's the 100% pomegranate juice because it's cut with other juices that don't really help with the lining.

i would definitely start with that website though.

  • I never tried any of those methods, but I do remember that green tea helps produce more EWCM so you should drink that leading up to O.

The POM juice, like a PP said, helps with the lining of your uterus.  I think you are supposed to drink that after O until a certain number of DPO.  You'll have to lurk on GP or google to find the right times and for how long.

Good luck with it.  Some of the girls on GP swear by those methods.  Also, look into eating pineapple core too.  GP girls used to make smoothies out of it, but I'm not sure what time of the cycle to do that either.

  • In regards to increasing CM, I've heard Mucinex DM is supposed to help with that too.  lol  I'd stick with green tea though unless you have a cold.
