I think I'm going to try roller derby!
My hairdresser is my age & she invited me to go tonight. They aren't competing tonight, just having a free skate to generate some interest.
I've always loved to roller skate, so why not? I'm excited!
Re: I think I'm going to try roller derby!
LOL. I told DH & he the first thing he said was, "You're going to get hurt"
Just be careful! I think so much about the things I may not be able to do once I am healed - only 80% range of motion if all heals right. And one of the things I thought of was roller skating!

Thanks guys!
H&W: They wear roller skates! I never liked roller blades, so I'd be out if that were the case.
Me too! Oh man, I thought I was *so hot* when I was 13... good times
.
Shoe, you are so bad asss for trying this out. You're going to have to post some PIPs of this.
Be careful out there!
I've got a CW that was a derby girl. Man, those matches are fun to watch, but they do get hurt...a lot. Mostly knee injuries. The most important skill - & the first one you'll be taught - is how to properly take a fall to minimize injury. If you decide to sign up to become fresh meat (a derby newb), be prepared to be more sore than you ever have in your life - and have the best looking legs you'll ever have in your life
Have fun!
Edit: Oops! Just realized this was from yesterday. Hope you had fun!
