really really dumb question

A friend just messaged me that she drove by our new house and that we should take down the 'for sale' sign. Do we do that? And when??

Re: really really dumb question

  • Have you closed yet?  I dont think you are allowed to take it down until the closing.  But usually the agent puts up a sale pending sign or something.  They generally like to keep the sign up for advertising though.
  • Closing is April 16 (hopefully). Okay, that's what I thought! I got alarmed for a second.

  • If you haven't closed the house isn't sold and it isn't your property.  Would be up to the current owners to deal with the sign. If the deal is signed, you could probably talk with the agent...though they are probably gonna want a little advertising time if they can get it.

Ours said SOLD on it once we were under contract.

  • Whew! i'm glad my original thinking was correct in that it's NOT technically sold. Thanks!
