Actual One year anniversary gifts?
Has anyone started thinking about it yet?
We're taking a cruise to celebrate our anniversary--we honeymooned in Cancun and would watch the cruise ships pass by in the distance over dinner, so we decided to celebrate one year later by cruising past our honeymoon hotel.
So our gift of paper is the cruise itinerary, but I may surprise him with a photo album of our honeymoon pics.
What are you girls planning? Are you sticking to paper?
Re: Actual One year anniversary gifts?
No fun Chrissy
Could you mail him an anniversary gift?
I'm always a buzzkill thread killer! Sorry girls!! I'm not all mopey and depressed over here, promise. And I love hearing about how newlyweds *should* be spending their first anniversary. Don't let my Debbie Downer post kill the thread!
Steph - I can definitely mail him something!
I'm sure you'll figure something out Chrissy.
We plan to always take off of work on our anniversary and do something together. No idea what we will do this year. We're going to FL again in May so we probably won't be able to take off again in June. I have no clue what to get him.
Sorry Chrissy - that sucks...
We dont know what we are going to do yet... we want to go somewhere but my sister gets married the weekend before our anniversary in Texas so we'll have just taken a trip a week earlier for 4 days and had that expense. We're thinking of maybe taking off the Monday and heading up to Chicago for the weekend or something to keep the costs down.

I'm in the same situation, Chrissy. There is a decent chance that either I won't be moved to San Diego (assuming they actually cut our orders) or H will be underway in June...or even if he's on land he could have Duty that day. I'd be thrilled just to be able to spend the day with him.

Ditto. I am traveling the weekend afterwards (Dr. not happy) to be in my BFFs wedding and see my BIL who will be home on leave from Iraq.
We're going to Vegas for a week in August.
I think DH is just happy that the Twilight movie comes out on the 30th, not the 28th, so I won't actually be able to directly tie it to our anniversary celebration...
We've decided to take a trip each year for our anniversary. Since we are going to Costa Rica in May (and probably Israel in August for a wedding), I think we will do somewhere domestic. Currently, we are thinking a long weekend in New Orleans?
We haven't decided whether we want to do gifts (and start the traditional thread with "paper" etc.) or just cards.
