Restaurant recs please

DH's 40th birthday is on the 26th.  I want to take him to a really nice dinner but I'm not sure where to go.  I was going to do 677 Prime, but it's a Friday in Lent, so we won't be eating meat.  I know they have some seafood, but also that they known for their beef entrees.  Also, my parents are taking us to Peter Luger's Steakhouse in Brooklyn the week before.  He LOVES seafood so I would love to do a really nice seafood restaurant, but can't seem to find one.  I'm not a big fan of Reel Seafood (not that it is fancy anyway) and in looking don't see anything else that strikes me.  Anyone have any recommendations?  It can be Saratoga area too.  I just want something really nice and special.

TIA!

Re: Restaurant recs please

  • Dun, I forgot about Jack's Oyster House.  I think I'll do that, but if anyone else has any other ideas I'd love to hear them.
  • I was going to rec. Jack's too.  Yanni's has good seafood too but it's not TOO fancy though.  Not sure if you want good seafood or a fancier restaurant.
  • One of our sales reps just recommended Dale Miller's restaurant too.  I'm going to take a look at that menu and see what it has.
  • I know Robin LOVES Dale Miller.  Very fancy and very good.  I'm jealous!  I've always wanted to go there.
  • I was going to recommend Jack's or Dale Miller- funny- you guys know me too well.
  • Cafe Madison is AMAZING

  • DH and I LOOOVE My Linh down by the Spectrum theater in Albany.  It's French-Vietnamese if you're up for trying something new.  And oh so yummy!

Jack's is where I was going to suggest.

Check the menu at Ginger Man, too.  I had some OUTSTANDING scallops there last time I went, but I can't remember how many other seafood options they have, and whether it would be enough variety for a Friday in Lent.

  • Gingerman serves amazing seafood.

    Also, try McGuires on Lark.

  • Its been awhile but the last time I was at Yono's I had some good seafood...
