Furniture??

Ok so DH and I are in the market for a new couch.  I have no clue what manufacturers make high quality couches.  I used to have a lazyboy couch and the cushions sagged quickly (less than 1 year).  I had one of their recliners and it has lasted forever......  Does anyone know of a good/reputable brand of couch??

 Thanks!

Re: Furniture??

  • I don't know about brand names, but I see that there's an Ashley furniture in Reno.  I've gotten a lot of furniture from them and haven't had a problem.  They have an excellent coverage plan as well.
  • Ditto Ashley.  We shopped ALL the stores around here when we were looking and theirs seemed to have the most solid construction.  We ended up getting ours from an "outlet" type store and it was an Ashley piece which I didn't realize til I got it home.  :)  So far so good at least!
  • We have had our Ashley sofa for about 3 years now. It is holding up ok, but the cushions getting really deflated lately (I am disappointed about that). I wouldn't not buy an Ashley again, but definitely check the thickness of the cushions when you buy it!
  • We purchased a new sofa which is manufactured by Corinthian.  I honestly have no idea how to find out who sells their products.  We're happy with it--it's comfy and very nice.  It replaced our Ashley sofa which we had for about 2.5 years.  The Ashley in good enough condition to be a lounge sofa (which is it's current use; however, I'm not sure I'll purchase another.  Like Angela's, our's deflated pretty quickly.

  • I have had nothing but disappointment from Ashley couches/chairs.  We have a Lazy Boy, RC Willey, Ethan Allen.....and much much more here in Reno.  I am just lost on brands.  The Ashley furn. did seem solid when we bought it BUT the cushions just did not hold up.  I want to buy something that will last.  Thanks for the info so far ladies!  Keep the suggestions coming!

  • Random thought from the space cadet: we have two sofas in our living room and I only told you about one.  We also have a Jennifer Convertible sofa that I've had for 5 years, and it's as good as new.  I highly recommend them if there is one near you.
