(@) - talk me down

My rational brain knows I'm being ridiculous because I'm completely anal about my pills, but I need confirmation.

I haven't been sleeping well for a month. I haven't felt good for over 2 weeks. This morning I was actually nauseous... though I'm over that now. This week I've been having odd food cravings - on Monday alone, it was Taco John's, then brownies, then a greasy cheeseburger, then a malt, then a taco pizza from a local chain, then back to burger... then we actually went out for burgers and I got home and wanted cake. I got to work this morning and wanted nachos.

DH joked last night that I "better not be pregnant" and now I'm sorta freaking out at the miniscule chance he might be right.

Re: (@) - talk me down

  • when was your last AF?

you could have a bad tummy from all the crap you have been eatting!

  • get thee to a drugstore and POAS.

it's really the only way you'll feel better.

    I am the 99%.
  • Ok, I totally feel your pain.

We all get weird cravings, and I totally spent some time feeling nauseous recently, and I'm not (@)

If you've been taking your pills on time, it's almost literally impossible for you to be pregnant.   If you're really freaking out, definitely get a test just to ease your mind, but I really would doubt it.  You're on Seasonique, right?  How far away from your period are you?

  • Tell your H to stop putting suggestive thoughts in your head! All of your evidence sounds completely circumstantial at this point, so I wouldn't worry about it. But definitely pee on a stick if it would make you feel better.

Like two months... like I said, the rational side of my brain knows I'm being ridiculous.

  • It even could be the hormones in the pills making you feel nauseous/wanting bad food.  Or you could be feeling nauseous from eating greasy stuff!

I know how you feel; you know it's not the case, but you can't get the thought out of your mind.  Don't worry, we've all been there.  I get that way about 3 or 4 times a year.

  • I'm sure you're not but poas to make yourself feel better.

  • It's my understanding (though please correct me if I'm wrong) that it is highly unlikely you would have symptoms such as nausea before actually missing your period.  In fact I doubt you'd have any symptoms til at least a few days after.
  • Hmm, now that I think about it, I think I actually have one at home.
  • Not to muddy the waters here, but check the time frame that it says the test will be effective in relation to your cycle.  You don't want to take it too soon or the results may not be reliable.
  • But you don't really have a cycle on the pill, right?  And she won't have another period for 2 months anyway.

Ahhhh, now I understand.  Sorry, I'm not familiar with how that particular pill works.

  • I don't know if you had coffee this morning, but when I haven't slept or eaten well and I combine that with a cup of java, I feel pretty crappy.

    Good luck!

  • I feel strange like that all the time; I think pregnancy-like symptoms are a relatively common occurrence in non-pregnant life. Of course, I'm paranoid too, which is why I could never deal with a pill like Seasonique - I need the confirmation every 4 weeks.

I also know it's freaky to give into your fears and POAS, it's almost like you don't want to give your paranoid side like that. But it's the only way to know for sure.

  • Just take the test. You'll feel better. If you are really anal about taking your pills, it's extremely, extremely unlikely that you are pregnant.

FWIW, when I actually found out that I was pregnant, I had felt none of those symptoms.

  • It might be the pill itself that's making you all crave-y and symptom-y. If I had a nickel for every time I convinced myself I was PG while I was on the pill, I'd be...not here right now ;)

Everyone's right--the only way to feel better is to go POAS, but I am sure you're okay.

  • If you haven't been on any antibiotics or herbal medicines you should be good.
