waxing how long to wait?

My dh is going out of down for a week and I really want to get a brazillian (first time I'm scared! lol) to surprise him with when he gets home. I know the hair is supposed to be 1/4 inch long but on average how long does that take? Like a week without shaving? I shave very regularly, like every other day and would like to know how long to wait. I don't really want to have a bush the night he leaves either.

Re: waxing how long to wait?

  • I grow it out at least two weeks of growth before I wax. It really depends on how fast your body grows hair, so each person is different.

  • You'll get better results with 3 weeks. You can go in with two though but I would personally call the place your appointment is set up at and ask.

  • Most places will tell you about a week, but it depends on how fast it goes.  If it's a little longer, they'll trim it down before waxing.
  • Ugh I don't think I could go three weeks.. Lol Maybe I am just a shaving type girl.

My girlfriend had the same issue. She's been shaving since her first year of high school. When I told her to wait three weeks, she didn't and went in with two weeks of growth. Afterward, she was complaining that there were "little hairs" left and she didn't like it as much as I raved about it.

Fast forward three weeks after the hair started growing out and she finally went again like I originally suggested and she calls me up and is so happy and excited because it's "amazing". She then told me she won't ever go against my judgment when it comes to makeup and grooming again LOL.

You can go in with two weeks or less, but you will get better results with 3. And my hair doesn't grow slowly...I'm hispanic and I'm hairy.
