Let's say you have four days to yourself...

... what would you do with them? I'm on my own for March break this week, and I'm thinking I should do something more with my time than play video games. (Yes, I'm 30, a girl, and I play games - it makes me cool with my 13 year old students.) Inspiration anyone? I'd do a spa day, but I think that's more money than my teacher's salary can handle right now. Tongue Tied

Re: Let's say you have four days to yourself...

  • Well, here, it's pretty easy.  Lots of great things to do for free/cheap -- beaches, hikes, parks for picnicking and reading, fun new eating spots to try.  I'm not sure how your weather is treating you, but if I had free time, I'd be spending time outdoors, doing something active each day, reading fluffy gossip magazines, and catching up on all the girly movies DH doesn't want to watch with me.

Maybe you can find a good massage school nearby for a cheap treat.  I used to go regularly to a great one here (in a spa-like facility) and it was just $30/hr.  After that, I'd get an acai bowl and hit the beach.  Heaven!!!

    Enjoy your break!

  • I'd probably spend one day just lounging/napping, reading magazines, lingering in the bath tub, etc.

I'd spend one day at the beach or local park communing with nature...maybe take my camera and shoot the scenery.

One day with a girlfriend baragin hunting, thrifting, etc.  Maybe try out some new make-up at Sephora or Mac.  Catch a movie and have dinner out too.

And one day at a local museum or gallery.  Or maybe the aquarium.  Later, catching a local performance, trying out a new lounge (and wine), etc.  I love being a tourist in my own backyard.

  • I'd probably have a shopping day and then three lounging-around-the-house-in-my-PJs-watching-bad-TV-and-eating-crap days. Hey, I'm being honest. Stick out tongue
  • -museum or art gallery (Illinois teachers get in free in Chicago....I love it!)

    -long bubble bath

-lots of reading, perhaps by the fire with a pot of tea)  This could be a whole day....maybe two!

-trying a new recipe or two, maybe one that requires me to go to an ethnic grocery store and get foods I've never had before

-reorganize a closet (I like doing this, though!)

  • I'd hang out with girlfriends - do happy hour, maybe?  And shop.  Go to the gym.  Sleep.

    Enjoy your break!
