moving to Chapel Hill...?s

We will be moving there this summer and need to rent somewhere for a year.  Any suggestions?  So far, I've liked Meadowmont apts. and Southern Village apts.  Do you know anything about these?  Any other ideas?  Thanks for any help!

Re: moving to Chapel Hill...?s

  • I work in CH and meadowmont apts. is probably one of the nicest places to live...also one of the most expensive! They really have all of the amenities right there though so it's nice and close to everything you could need.
  • I teach in Chapel Hill and a lot of my students live in both of those areas- so they are good family places if that's what you're looking for. Both are more expensive places, but if you can afford it then I would go for it. Both have towns within them with grocery stores, shops, restaurants, I know southern village has a movie theater as well. I'm sure you'd like either area if they're in your price range. Good luck with the move!

  • Those are both really nice spots. I would favor Meadowmont over Southern Village because SV is kind of out there if you plan to go to Durham or Raleigh at all. Meadowmont is much more central. We lived at The Pointe at Chapel Hill for a year and really liked it.
  • I would agree w/ Jessica - Meadowmont's location in relation to I-40 /downtown Chapel Hill and Durham/Raleigh is better.  But both are great areas - on the CH busline and I think either would be wonderful places to live!
