Well, isn't this the mother of all coincidences...

One of my friends happens to be my ex-boyfriend's sister.  We became friends through him, but then she came to my college and we were friends on our own.  We fell out of touch over the years, but recently have reconnected via facebook.  I told her I was pg and she told me that she is pg with number 2 - and due 4 days before me!!

So, I asked her what hospital she would be delivering at and she said North Shore - which the hospital I will be delivering at!!!!  It is VERY possible that we could have our babies at the same time, and be in the same hospital.  Which means that it is also very possible that my ex-boyfriend, his new wife, and his entire family could also be in the same hospital as me when I am giving birth.

That is just WEIRD.

  • lol That is definitely weird. I don't know how I would feel if my ex's sis could possibly be in the hospital at the same time as me while giving birth. Even a little more freakier would be if you happened to share a room with her! I'd definitely request a private room...WAY in advance! lol

  • And I totally would love to be in labor at the same time as a friend - not that we will be pusing together, lol, but we could walk up and down the halls together trying to get our babies to come out :-)  And what stories we would have to tell our kids!  And I would love if that friend were her....just not with her whole family around.  I don't want my ex and his new wife seeing me at my "finest". :-)

  • :::sigh::: Danielle, you've lost your mind. LOL.

While it's definitely possible, what are the odds that would actually happen?

  • That is weird! I wouldn't dwell on it much! What does your DH think about this mix of fate?!

I know the odds we would be in labor at the same time are slim, but the odds that we would overlap at the hospital are actually pretty high! Especially if I go early at all.....

He said my ex is just the person he wants to see on the day he welcomes his child into the world... :-)

  • Stranger things have happened...  DH & I took a dance class before we got married & befriended another couple.  The wife & my DH rode the same bus quite often & as it turned out, she was due about 2 weeks after me & planning to deliver at the same hospital.  He joked that maybe we'd all see each other in L&D.  WELL... you guessed it.  There I was holding my newborn, less than 24 hours old & DH walks in & asks "Can I bring in some surprise guests?"  It was none other than the other dance class couple & she was in labor.  Our babies are 2 days apart!

    See!  It happens!!

My friend is already suggesting that we be hospital roomies....I think that might be a little much for me when her family comes to visit her!!!
