Saw Alice in Wonderland...

Thought it was just so-so.  I mean, it's visually stunning, aside from a CGI slip up here or there... Oscar nomination for costuming for sure.  But the story itself was pretty "meh."  Nothing I'd look to own or see again.

Didn't someone else on this board mention they saw it?

Re: Saw Alice in Wonderland...

  • I saw it....loved it....and I would go see it again....  Big Smile
  • I loved it, too. I agree that the story was a bit...lacking, but overall I still really enjoyed it.
  • A co-worker of mine saw it last week and she said it was great.  She said it was worth all $12 to see it... I said, "$12?!"  Yeah, aparently 3-D costs more than regular-D and you can't even see it in regular-D!

I wouldn't go just because of that... what a rip off!  If I ever do see it, which is doubtful, I'll put it on my Blockbuster list in a few months. :)

It is showing in 2-D, too. DH and I saw it in 2-D because 3-D gives me a headache and we'd read reviews that the 3-D didn't make a difference. Just check the listings, the ones in 3-D will say it at the end of the title :). I never find 3-D worth the extra $$.

If it makes you feel any better, regular movies around here are nearly $12 a ticket, the 3-D for Avatar was like, $14.50!

I also heard that 3-D doesn't make that much of a difference for Alice in Wonderland.  Apparently, the effects aren't all that impressive.  (We saw 2-D.)

Well, that's good to know... maybe it's up to the theater if they show it both ways or not?  My friend said she didn't have a choice.  Either way, that's SO expensive!  We pay $8.95/month and we get all of the movies we want mailed right to us.  That's the same as just 1 movie ticket... and aparently in some places, that's not even enough for 1 ticket!  Geez... what a rip.

  • We saw it in 2D...AND during "rush hour" so it was cheaper....going to the movies is like "an event" now...it's expensive.
  • Yeah - I saw it and thought it was okay. I think I would rather see it in 2-D. The 3-D theater we went to was packed so we had to sit on the 3rd row. My head, neck and back hurt. I'm not exactly sure the point of 3-D here and I think the colors would have been better in a regular theater. I will probably enjoy watching it more on my home tv.
