How was your weekend?

Mine was hectic.  I'm sore.

Friday I went down to my parents house and we had crawfish in Bayou Pigeon, soooo good!  Saturday we went to the parade and caught a TON of stuff.  Babies are very good things to bring to parades!  We also went eat at South of Philly on Sherwood and it was fantastic, I highly recommend it!

Yesterday I came home and DH, E and I all worked in the yard until it got dark.

Re: How was your weekend?

  • We did a LOT of gardening this weekend! The front of the house is completely done!

We also had gutters installed and purchased this carpet remnant at Lowe's (for 75% off...400 sq. feet worth) to install in our front bedrooms! :) It's gonna look 1000 times better than the nasty linoleum that has been in those rooms for the past 20 years! :)

We also painted our front door and we'll get to the shutters/other doors next weekend, weather willing. I'm hoping to start on the veggie garden too next weekend!

Oh and DH took me out to eat at La Carreta for a bday date! Don't judge...I was craving queso and margaritas like it was nobody's business! :)

  • I actually had a long but really good weekend. I spent most of my Thursday night at the hospital waiting on the beautiful baby girl. The Special Olympics started Friday night and continued all day Saturday and Sunday. I really enjoyed it! Looking forward to doing it again next year.

Friday night I went out with a friend to watch a band - Common Ground. They were FANTASTIC. It was 3 people - 2 guys and a girl. All sang and the guys had guitars. It was completely acoustic. I LOVED IT!!! Ya'll should check them out.

  • Ditto to Jenn's long but great weekend! Thursday night was spent at the hopsickle with Jamie and Jenn waiting for Norah to show up!

I got no sleep and went to work at 4AM, got off around 1, went home to take a shower, then I picked up sushi for Shoe. I couldn't smuggle a margarita into the hopsickle Jenn.. sorry!

After that I went home and crashed until Saturday morning. Yeah. I was tired. Jamie went to work in the morning and I went to pick up decorations for Shoe's house and put them up. Jenn, you were there in spirit. After that Jamie and I just hung around the house and cleaned a little.

Sunday, we got up early, finished cleaning the house, then went to order more balloons since the ones I put up Saturday deflated. Norah had to stay an extra night at the hopsickle, so Jamie and I went to visit while the balloons were being put together. Picked up the balloons, went put them up and went back home. Dinner and done.

    Whew.

  • This was the last weekend of taking it easy before the baby comes - the last required weekend of bed rest YAY. The baby is now full-term, and I am ready for him/her to come any day now.

The people who lived in our house before us took off all closet doors and put up sheets in the bedrooms instead. So David and his dad went to Lowes this weekend and bought everything we needed to install closet doors, and we now have closet doors, everything just needs to be painted.

We did have a cardinal (we name Valentino) fly into the sliding glass doors of our bedroom early Sunday morning. We jumped out of bed b/c we weren't sure what the bang was. He was hobbling around and it looked like he broke his leg and wing. D grabbed a towel, and went out and wrapped him up in the towel (after me crying saying, "help him, help him!") So we sat outside on the patio with the bird, and just tried to help him calm down. We called the vet school to see if they knew anywhere in Slidell to take him. They said wildlife and fisheries. So we just sat there with the bird - after about 25-30 min he started to perk up and his little feather crown thing started to perk up, and next thing we knew he took off and flew away. He was super cute.
