I NEED to lose 20lbs. I'm starting with 10. I have to have to have to. I feel gross, things don't fit like they used to and I don't' want to replace my wardrobe! I think I just added on winter weight! I need to get in shape more for wedding season though! It's pretty tough on your body and if I'm out of shape I'm huffing and puffing and feel really really out of shape. So here it goes. I'm hoping to be down 10lbs by Easter! I know it's close, but I haven't worked out in a LONG time. I'm going to do Wii Active 4x a week in the morning then take Isabelle for a 30 min walk in the afternoon.
Whenever I get BUX I'm going to get the lighter version (skinny or light fraps). And start eating better fresher foods.
I've been putting this off but I SERIOUSLY need to do it and I only have a little over a month left until my wedding season starts and my butt has to be in tip top shape!
Re: ok girls.
You totally can do it.
I lost 15 lbs, just by doing the Wii fit every day for 30mins to an hour.
I am also watching what I eat, and I am only trying to eat no more then 1500 calories in one day.
I am down 24lbs right now, and have not been doing it right now because of the stitches in my neck, but I am going back on it today.
We can do it together!

Good luck Kara. You can do it. I've definitely found eating habits are a majority of weight loss. The month of Feb I didn't do much working out, but definitely changed my eating, and lost 6 lbs. I'm down 10 in the last 6-7 weeks, and still losing (I usually hit a plateau after 4 lbs).
Go Kara, go! You can do it no problem.
Good luck! Do you have a partner to check in with? It always helps me when someone holds me accountable. Also, here are some habits that help me maintain my weight.
First, I do eat. I eat A LOT. I love to eat! I eat 3 meals 2 snacks (sometimes 3) and have dessert every day. I focus on eating good natural foods that don't come in a box but occasionally take advantage of low fat/low sugar pre-packaged items to eat in a crunch. It keeps me from getting hungry.
My Average day
9:30am - breakfast - a bowl of oatmeal. I keep a big container at work with a bowl and spoon. I add 2 packets of splenda and sprinkle a little cinnamon in it. Yummy! On weekends I eat scrambled egg whites with chicken sausage, a slice of whole wheat toast with light butter and low sugar jam and a piece of fruit. On weekends I eat a little less because I'm running more so I like to start with a good breakfast.
11:30am - snack - an apple (or other serving of fruit), protein
bar/fiber bar, 20 raw almonds or trial mix. There are so many snacks to chose from but I try to stick to fruit (I buy whatever is in season to save $$).
1pm - lunch - a spinach salad w/grilled chicken or with a sandwich on whole wheat (tuna, turkey, PB&J), 2 low fat hot dogs (no bun) or a veggie burger patty. (I rarely eat leftovers because I don't like to heat up lunch)
4pm - snack - a serving of fruit (or see above)
7pm - dinner - There are so many healthy dinner alternatives. I just try to have a balanced meal and eat more veggies than anything else on my plate.
8pm - dessert - no sugar added sherbet (I PPH Publix Mango sherbet), pudding or chocolate mouse , no sugar added hot chocolate, a cup of tea or another low fat/low sugar desert, light 100 cal popcorn or something around 100 calories (if you want cookies, eat them just limit it to 100 cals).
Liquid intake - 60+ ounces of water. I rarely drink anything but water and I fill my water bottle up at least 3 times a day.
What helps me most is being prepared and having a schedule. On Sundays when I cook my meals for dinner I also prep for lunch. I make a lunch menu too. It may sound crazy but it works! If I didn't prepare I would eat Chick-fil-a every day! Yummy but not good for you. If you're working on changing your lifestyle, just find something that works for you. When I deter from this plan the pounds start adding up and I have to get back on the wagon but it doesn't take much to get there. And I do treat myself and eat things that aren't listed here but not every day and all the time.
You can do it!

I'll be a supporter and help you out, too! I need to focus on losing weight right now instead of enjoying food since SUMMER is around the corner AGAIN! I'm cutting out all processed foods, sugar, eating raw and natural foods, more vegetables, and I'm doing proper portions, too. I'm weighing out my food. 10 pounds is a perfect goal by Easter.
You can do it!
I have to ditto all the girls that said a planned menu for the week is key. It can be tedious, but honestly preparing in advance really helps me. If I didn't, I would probably end up going out to lunch or dinner and I rarely have self control when I find myself at a good restaurant.
YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!!!
I packed on some LBS this winter myself. I knew my weight was going up but I was ok with it because it wasn't too much and my clothes still fit.
Well then BAM my pants got snug and my shirts looked all kinds of funny around my mid-section and then I discovered my muffin top. OMG. I about died. Then I had to explain what a muffin top was to my husband. So I broke down and discovered Jillian and her 30DS. I needed to tone up more than I needed to lose weight. Its been a struggle but I know that I can not afford to buy a new spring/summer wardrobe so I have to get into shape so that's what I've been doing. Jillian and her crazy 30DS. Walking Buddy when its nice outside for about 30 minutes. And just trying to eat better. That last part is what seems to be getting me as of late but I'm working on it....
Another big thing that helps me keep in check is my food log.
I write down everything and calculate the calories that I've eaten, and the time that I ate it. It's a constant reminder throughout the day, where I'm at of nutrition and balancing out my meals.
;-)
good luck kara! i'll be joining you soon! i need to firm up for sure!
Good Luck! You can do it!
