So I think I might be getting carpal tunnel or something like it...my mouse wrist/forearm feel sorta tense or weak (but I can still use it like normal), like I wanna shake it out and stretch it all the time. No pain or tingling, though. It's just started bothering me this week, so I'm not sure if it's actually a repetitive stress injury or maybe I messed something up lifting weights.
What kind of doctor do I see for this? I know my family doc will probably refer me elsewhere, but seeing a neurologist or something seems like overkill. Any ideas? TIA
Re: What doc should I see?
Ah, hadn't thought of an orthopedic doc...thanks for the rec! I will also try the massage idea, since I have a gift certificate for a massage therapist I've been meaning to use.
Thanks ladies!
if the massage doesn't help, check out acupuncture (if you're open to it) - I've had hand/finger issues and acupuncture helped more than traditional therapies.
GL!
sounds like carpal tunnel...you probably don't need to see anyone. i can't give you medical advice but if you google carpal tunnel and conservative treatment you can save yourself an initial consultant fee. if that doesn't work, then i would try a specialist...
ps - i got a good deal on a splint from amazon.com for myself for $4.
