Sorry! I got taken off bedrest yesterday, so instead of coming right home after the doctor's visit we went to Lowes, Walmart, out to dinner, and then back to Lowes. It was great being out of the house.
So, no progress since last week. Still 2cm and 50-60%. Yesterday while walking around the stores I had to stop because I could get contractions, nothing timeable though. Last night I lost part of the MP, but everything I have read said that can still mean everything is 2 weeks away. I did get pretty disappointed though b/c I test positive for GBS, which means I have to have an IV, which messes up some of my birth plan. I got upset about it last night, and started fearing an unmedicated birth because the IV messes some of the other things up that help you cope with pain (getting in the shower, walking, staying at home as long as possible, etc). I think I am better with it now, but I am still pretty disappointed.
oh yay for no bedrest!! I bet that was the best feeling, just getting out!
Ali, real quick before I forget. I know you want to labor at home for a while and something that we did on Thursday before deciding it was time to head to the hospital was I got in the shower with the water as hot as I could stand it and we put the exercise ball in there for me to sit on. It was a great way to relieve the pain. Just wanted to pass that tidbit on to you.
The shower is definitely a must for me. I told David I am not leaving for the hospital until I get in the shower. I am a shower person anyway, if I don't feel well I go get in the shower. Any time I had kidney stones, I spent time in the shower, when I was in denial about having appendicitis I spent forever in the shower. I am pretty good at handling pain when I have super hot water all around me. Exercise ball + shower sounds like an awesome idea!
