newly married nestie looking to make some friends on here

My name is Jackie and I've been married since last September. I've been unemployed for the past year and a half and haven't had much luck on the job market so I'm a stay at home housewife now(no kids). Just doing crafts, cleaning, shopping etc spending time with the hubbie. I was wondering if maybe anyone else out there is going through the same sorta thing. Or if anyone has any ideas where the best places to be looking for work would be. Thanks.

  • Hi, welcome, although I don't think I'm qualified to welcome anyone new as I am very new myself.

What kind of work are you looking for?  I tend to gravitate towards education related work, so when I was in the jobhunt zone, I would alway keep my eyes on edjoin.org.  It's a website that almost all schools use to post their openings.  You can sort by credentialed or classified and by area.  So, if you're looking for an office type job, you may be able to find something there.

Of course, the education system is feeling the cruntch just as bad as everyone else, so some of the positions are internal only, but it never hurts to take a look.

    Good luck!

  • Well, I live in Lake Elsinore. I used to be a waitress and made pretty good money but it was pretty fast-paced and stressful so I was kinda looking for an office job. I would just like something to get me by so I can go to a trade school soon. I took a couple college classes but didn't see myself going to school for 4+ years. So, either just a file clerk or an office assistant type possibly. Or even child care would be nice cause I love kids.:)
  • Hi & welcome! GL on the job hunt.

  • Hi Jackie! Congrats on your marriage! I drive through Lake Elsinore everyday- its nice to see new nesties in this area :)
