House Hunters in Indian Hill?

Did anyone see the episode with the single dad who moves from a teeny tiny house in Blue Ash to a million dollar home in Indian Hill? Freakin' crazy. It's "on demand" if you missed it.

Re: House Hunters in Indian Hill?

  • I haven't seen that episode but I love that show!

  • After reading your post I decided to watch the episode. Holy cow that was an upgrade. I don't want to ruin it for everyone, but it was very interesting. I have some strong opinions on what happened.
  • I looked for it last night, but I don't know if I have the on demand channel or not. I would assume I do, but I couldn't find it. If you have TWC... what channel is it?

  • We were just watching House Hunters last night. I'll have to check out this episode. The ppl on there always suprise me. Last night the girl was going to pay $1k/sf for an apartment in Hong Kong I think. She was young and I can't remember what she did but DH and I are regularly suprised on how much these people can 'afford' on houses.

  • Hidden Potential, another HGTV show came to Dayton a few years ago.   A couple was looking for a house to remodel in an eco friendly way.  The show made it seem like they picked/bought one in Kettering & were ready to start the remodel.  They never actually bought the house and it was on the market still/again last year.  The house was right out of the 70s so you know they didn't do any work on it.  I sort of do an eye roll now at some of the HGTV shows.

OMG, me too. Even my husband got fired up while watching it. I want everyone to see it so I can bash...I mean, discuss it.

    me too! me too!

  • Just watched it.  What seemed so odd was just how he acted like it was just a "little" upgrade...kept saying "the houses in Indian Hill are a little bigger, a little more spaced out" etc... I was like seriously?    Major upgrade!  I'm curious CincyGirl, what are your opinions???
  • The whole episode was obnoxious. A little upgrade my arse...
  • i really like how he just was like yeah i sold some stock blah blah blah. "new" money much?!?! either that or his alimony finally stopped. HEHE. i cannot believe what happened at the end though. they all seemed really snotty.

Total new money. I'm guessing inheritance.

  • Yes! SO obnoxious!  Referring to himself as "the king" has to be the dumbest thing I've ever heard on HGTV.  His daughters seemed like entitled brats too.  He was obviously trying to compete with their mother, wanting his house to be "the family home," as he said.

I honestly couldn't believe how those people were behaving. The daughters were seemed really bratty. He seemed like he was competing with the mother. "I like that your mom is right down the street."

Probably the thing that annoyed the most out of me is why did he buy the house if it has all those problems? I live in a house that was built in the 1880s. You don't buy an old house and not expect it to have upkeep...Finally the house he was building looked just like the first one he looked at. Why not just buy the first one! i am sure when it all comes together you will have paid the same if not more!

I completely agree!  He ended up paying $880k or whatever for the land.  He couldn't have salvaged the house at all?  Puh-lease!  I bet he ended up spending more than he would have if he bought the first house.  I also think his daughters are probably experts at pitting their parents against each other.

  • I couldn't tell if the girls were brats or just wanted to get away from their dad.
  • You know what, I think all of you that are putting this family down and judging them need to take a look in the mirror and ask yourselves if your perfect!? You don't even know these people and your calling young girls snotty and brats and they didn't behave anyway but quiet and polite. Did you ever stop to think they may have been nervous about being on camera? And far as the dad goes, he seemed friendly and polite. Maybe some of you are jealous because you don't have the money he does to buy the nice home he did. Maybe he's a little smarter with his investments than you are and it makes you mad to see other people have something you don't. Haven't you ever heard "if you have nothing nice to say then don't say anythng". Well maybe you should do that now. And one last thing, maybe he wanted a house down the road from his ex wife so his kids could be close to home!!!
