For the record...

I wish I could find a group of ladies on the bump who are as awesome as you guys. You all win, hands down.

Re: For the record...

  • For the record, I wish I was pg too! I love the girls on the Getting Pregnant board (and they sometimes allow you to stick around after your BFP if they like you lots), but it's a little too late for you to befriend them.Wink

After 22 cycles and 4 failed IUIs, Serafina joined our family through IVF/ICSI, born 8.28.12
Surprise! The Sequel is due 12.8.14!

  • I haven't lurked too much on the Bump, but I get the impression that everyone there thinks they're better parents than everyone else... or that they know about healthy pregnancies than anyone else... Is that what you've encountered?

There are a ton of know-it-alls and a ton of drama queens. I mean, I get that all of us have raging hormones and are tired and grumpy...but that doesn't justify being mean to other people. Granted, there are a ton of boneheads with stupid questions, too, but I just don't understand the need to flame people for asking a question. If I don't have anything to say I just move on to the next post.

I guess it is the same with any "national" board, I just rarely see a reason to be snarky.

LOL... Tuesday Confession: I lie every time I say "there's no such thing as a stupid question."

In fact, I ran across one on the Health and Fitness board not too long ago.  A pregnant woman, due 10 days in the future according to her signature ticker, was having chest pains, and wanted to know if she should still hit the gym.  I mean, really?  Really.   You're due in ten days, you're having chest pain, and your number one concern is whether you should work out?

^ Thus is proof: stupid questions exist.

  • Have you tried your EDD board?  I was part of the August board and those ladies were freaking awesome!!!  Good luck in your pg :)

  • Angela are they being mean to you???  Super Angry  Don't make me come over there....  "YOU DON"T KNOOOOOW ME!"...
  • I've asked a few random questions on the DC local bump board, and they've all been nice to me. But it does seem mostly like a place to brag about your bump/kids/parenting skills.

ETA: Also when I need some entertainment, I hang out on the Baby Names board. The things some people want to call their kids!
