This is one of my favorite holidays by far!
Anyone doing anything special for St. Patrick's Day??
Who's wearing green?

Yeah, I'm sad it's in the middle of the week, with no proper time to full on celebrate.
I'm wearing a green dress and some awesome green and white striped chenille socks. I have some glittery shamrock headbands somewhere in my desk too.
For kicks, here's me and my H two years ago:

Oops! Totally forgot to wear green. We're going out to dinner tonight with a bunch of friends because it's also DH's 30th birthday! I better put on green before then.
We usually just do dinner somewhere. It's too crowded in downtown Austin to enjoy any of the Irish bars

Cooky-It's your birthday too? Happy Birthday!!!! And to Leigha's H too! I hear you on the weird birthday thing (mine is NYE), we decided last year to just celebrate it the day before because everything is so stupid that night. I feel your pain!
Happy St. Paddy's Day everyone! We are green in full effect.

I actually remembered to wear green today! Go me! Happy birthday to all St. Patty's babies.
We don't have any plans for tonight. DH will probably pick up some beer on his way home from getting the oil changed in a firetruck. I'd say a few of his buddies will come over, too. We are pretty boring.

I'm wearing green! Although, I'm not going to be doing any celebrating today. I have clients until late tonight at the gym, and bright and early tomorrow morning. I never seem to be able to enjoy SPD when it falls during the week either. I guess in a few years we'll have it back on a weekend.
Confession: Although I'm Scottish, I clame Irish on St Patty's Day. Most people don't really seem to know the difference in the last names anyway
Tsk tsk. I would never EVER claim Irish, even on St. Patty's Day and married to a SPD baby! I'm pretty sure my ancestors would haunt me.

I survived the RoLex wedding and all I got was this lousy husband.

I'm IBM (Irish-By-Marriage).
I've ALWAYS love St. Patrick's Day. I'm rockin' the green AND I'm giving extra credit to any of my students who wear green (though I didn't tell them that ahead of time...heehee).
Of course, I'm stuck at work and/or in class tonight until 8:15 or so, so I don't think there will be much celebrating. The hubs and I may have some Whiskey as a nightcap.
SBS, aren't you either Irish/Scottish (your maiden name)?
Lucy Elizabeth 10.27.12
SBS - Mamie's right! You're Irish by birth, silly!
Nope, it's Scottish, not Irish. It's a tricky one, though, because it's very VERY close to similar Irish ones.
I totally goofed here. I Googled your married name to double check the Irish decent, instead of your maiden name. Your maiden name falls into the exact same category as mine and Mamie's. I say you can still claim Irish on St. Patty's Day though! I do.

My mom's side is Scottish...either way they still play bagpipes on St. Patrick's day so I'm happy!
I have green eyes...so I've always considered that my "green" item for the day.
