I'm flying back east over the summer to attend my college roommate's wedding and I've got enough frequent flyer miles with US Airways for a free ticket. When I was checking out the available dates yesterday, I realized for 5,000 more miles I could fly first class which surprised me bc normally you need a lot more miles for first class.
Ive never flown first class and it would be nice to fly it for this trip since I'm taking a red eye on the way there and I never sleep well in coach seats. Problem is I'm about 1200 miles short of having enough miles to get the first class ticket. I looked into buying miles from the airline and I can buy enough miles to get the first class ticket for $25 bucks.
This is probably a silly question but would you guys do it or is it not worth the extra $25 bucks? There is a service fee for using frequent flyer miles so I'm already having to pay $25 to get the coach ticket so we're talking spending $25 for a coach ticket or $50 for a first class ticket.
Re: WWYD re: flying
I would totally do it for a cross-country flight, especially a red-eye!
Now, if it was just a trip from here to the Bay Area, I'd say forget it...not worth it.
The only other trips we're considering taking that we could use the free ticket for is to New Orleans or NYC but NOLA we probably wouldnt fly US Airways since their flights to NOLA connect somewhere northeast and then you fly back south which doesnt even make sense and for NYC I have a travel voucher with Virgin America and they have better deals to NYC than US Airways probably would. Plus for those trips, H would be going with me so I'd have to fly coach since I doubt hed be happy about getting stuck in coach while I fly first class hehe.
You mean you guys want to sit next to each other??? :P
haha he makes for a good pillow =D
Ditto! How awesome!
